- Åke Alm, was born in 1955, he grew up south of Stockholm, Sweden. At 10, he bought his first camera, it was a small black "boxcamera" made for rollfilm. In school he was taught to develop the films and that is how he discovered his heart for photography. - After working as a icehockey player and coach in Scotland were he also ran his own decorating company from 1978 on he left and came to Germany 1994. - With the introduction of digital photography, he was back in to photography. - Åke takes times for his images, he tries to capture the image in his camera then he has less work on the computer. He prints, cut the mats and mounts the images himself. - His passion are landscape shots and water, on his travels he tries to take pictures of buildings from a different perspective. Macros from flowers is an other way for him to express himself. - In 2012 he got the opportunity in a workshop to photograph animals close up, some of the images were presented in a photo exhibition. - He also take part in other workshops and seminars to refine his techniques. - Åke is a member of Kleinostheimer Fotoclub, Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen and arbeitskreis hanauer lichtbildner . |
